Manufacturing Systems
We at FPM Filtration offer customized systems built to regulate and purify air quality for all types of manufacturing processes.
Metal Fabrication and Machining Filtration
The combination of grinding, welding, and cutting found in most metal fabrication facilities creates fine particles and fumes. Our customized manufacturing filtration systems include multi-stage filters, industrial dust collection, and mist collectors.
Welding fume extractors capture fine particles and toxic gas, and can safely vent them away from work zones. These work through a combination of extraction arms, fume hoods, or overhead ductwork to directly vent fumes away from the welder as they are produced.
From there, the contaminants go though several filtration stages. This begins with pre-filters that catch large metal fragments, which cuts down on the wear of finer filters.
HEPA or ULPA (ultra-low penetration air) filters catch 99.97% of airborne particles — down to 0.3 microns. Common fume particles, such as hexavalent chromium and manganese, are effectively contained. From there, activated carbon filters neutralize gasses like ozone and nitrous oxide, allowing clean air to be recirculated back into the facility.
Some systems recirculate cleaned air back into the work areas, and other scenarios require the air to be vented outside. Recirculating air conserves energy, but sometimes local regulations require the air to be fully vented.
These systems are flexible to accommodate all types of welding applications.
Woodworking & Carpentry Filtration
Wood dust is both a breathing hazard and a fire hazard. Facilities that build products out of wood generate a lot of dust from shaping, sawing, and sanding.
Dust collectors are effective for removing sawdust right at the source — and can handle high volumes of particles for all day production. This includes larger particles from sawing as well as tiny particles from sanding. The smaller particles are particularly problematic as a breathing hazard.
Because wood dust is combustible, our recommended systems are equipped with safety features that detect sparks and suppress fires. They are also built with explosion-proof housing to protect workers and machinery.
Ideal for:
- Furniture manufacturing
- Cabinet manufacturing
- Design of specialty products, such as playground structures and audio equipment housing
- Lumber milling
Our filtration specialists understand the unique demands of manufacturing. We’ll design a custom air filtration system that seamlessly integrates into your workflow, protecting your workers and optimizing your processes.
